The Court of Angels Fan Experience
Angel City Football club is a soccer team in the NWsl based out of los angeles california. The team not only finds success on the field but also in the community.
with this project my team hoped to continue that success.
The court of angels fan experience
This experience focused on on the teams ongoing themes of unity, belonging and freedom of expression. To do this we created a new, groundbreaking custom jersey experience.
Using a design template users would be able to customize their own jersey with an assortment of different patterns, graphics and patches so that they can express themselves however they seem fit whilst representing their favorite club.
Zone 1 - Our History
During this part of the experience fans will be greeted with a collection of the teams previously worn jerseys along with screens playing some of the iconic moments that occurred while the jerseys were being worn. This is a way for guests to relive some nostalgia for their team and even gain some inspiration looking forward to the next zone in the experience.
Zone 2 - design experience
This is where the magic happens, here guests will be able to fully customize their jerseys. Using a jersey template and different predesigned elements fans will be able to use a 3 stage process customizing their jersey using different colors, designed patterns and even stickers showcasing facets of individualism including representation of different cultural and gender identities. Once done using augmented reality the screen in front of you will transpose the jersey you have created onto you and prompt you for a photo so you can see yourself representing your team how you truly see fit.
Zone 3 - Game integration
This experience transcends the physical locations that they are placed at however. Throughout the game the audience will be prompted with in-arena events.
These include the jersey of the day where they will vote on their favorite jersey created today and give it the opportunity to make it to the end of year vote where the creator of the fan favorite jersey created over the course of the season will be able to see it worn as a practice jersey on fan appreciation day the next year.
Additionally there is the custom jersey cam where by accessing the ACFC app you will be able to not only access your created jersey as a camera filter but also have a chance be shown on the jumbotron wearing it!
Zone 4 - APP integration
To access all of your photos you will need to download the access tab integrated into the already developed Angel City FC app. Here you will be able to find your pictures but also the AR selfie cam where you can continue to access your custom jersey filter long after leaving the game and the jersey vote so that if you miss the jumbotron queue you will still have the chance to make your choice. This format will leading to driving up the traffic on the established ACFC app and also make it so that the site can be left dormant during the offseason patiently waiting for the start of the season.
