Eildolon Speaker

A Statement of Luxury

The Vision of Rolls Royce as an organization is simply to create THE FUTURE OF luxury Mobility. I was tasked to create a speaker that would stand in line with their brand.

The result was the eidolon Speaker.

Brand system implementation

Upon doing extensive research into the brand of Rolls Royce it was not hard to come upon the main pillars that their image rests upon, luxury and class. To follow through with this vision, what better way than to take influence from their newest step in this direction the recently revealed project car the Rolls Royce 103EX and combine this with Rolls Royce’s brand aesthetic and iconography as a whole.

Sketch progressions

I started off by created many sketches outlining the basic forms that I wanted the speaker to follow. Working with aspects of the 103EX such as the wheel wells, modern vehicle cabin, wired grille, and the car’s unique 3 piece body before refining these factors into one concept.

3d Modeling

Once I had the sketch finished it was time to bring the concept further and closer to reality. Using Solidworks3D I carefully modeled the form of the speaker and all of its detailing accents such as the grill inspired side and front speaker caps, top touchscreen, and the underside grip.

Keyshot renders

After the extensive 3d modeling process it came time to then render my speaker and after countless rounds of color and material studies it became clear that it was meant to don its original metallic blue and pairing this with a blank showroom fit for the luxury vehicle this speaker was based on these were the results.

Fabrication

After the renders came the fabrication process. This entailed weeks of production after creating the base model with a 3d printer I went through a long process of sanding and polishing before painting the model with a similar blue to the one that can be seen in the keyshot renders. Due to budgetary constraints much of the small details and materials were unfortunately unable to make the transition into the physical world but this model still stands as a testament to my sculpting and production capabilities.
